Article by Merche López, translated by Helen Weatherhead.-On Sunday, October 6, the Plaza de la Legión in Alhaurín el Grande hosts the 8th Meeting of Ballroom and Latin Dances, a charity event whose proceeds will go to the association Un Sí por la Vida, United Against Cancer. Organised by The Bachateros of Alhaurín el Grande, this event will have two parts, one at 12:00 p.m. and another at 4:00 p.m., bringing together dance groups from different provinces such as Málaga, Córdoba, Granada and Seville. This year, the event will feature dancers of all ages, from children as young as 7 to people over 80, offering a diverse and exciting show.

This year’s poster is dedicated to José Sevillano, a very dear friend of The Bachateros, who died last December. Sevillano was a regular participant at the event, and this year the photo of him and his wife is a tribute to his memory.

In addition to the performances of the dance groups, the event will have the special collaboration of Master Ham Carver José Antonio, from Plaza Gourmet, who will donate and cut hams throughout the morning, an initiative that will also help raise funds for the cause.

All the benefits will go to Un Sí por la Vida, in charge of setting up a bar throughout the day. The proceeds will be used to help cancer patients and their families. The collaboration of the Alhaurín el Grande City Council and all those who contribute with their effort and generosity is greatly appreciated.
